Christina Wins at Nursery World Awards 2018
Christina Noton, our brilliant Atworth Manager, has been crowned Early Years Teacher of the Year at the national Nursery World Awards 2018. She was presented with her trophy at a glittering ceremony in London which is designed by Nursery World magazine to celebrate and reward the best practice of individuals and companies in early years education across the country. Christina has worked for Snapdragons for nearly five years and has recently been promoted to manager at Snapdragons Atworth. She has completed her Early Years Initial Teacher Training with Best Practice Network, who have rated her an outstanding practitioner. Christina came in for special praise for her willingness to embrace new ideas, sharing them with her team, and her close partnership with parents which enables all children to access nursery life to the full.

Announcing Snapdragons Redland
Update: Our open days are now scheduled for the end of August. Find out more here.
We're delighted to be able to announce the newest member of the Snapdragons family - Snapdragons Redland!
Based in the beautiful area of Redland, just 1.5 miles from Bristol city centre, the nursery takes over from Redland High Junior School, based in two late 19th Century Victorian buildings.
Whilst these buildings will require a full refurbishment over the coming year, there is also a lovely modern cabin, constructed in 2014, that will allow the new nursery to open in just a few weeks, in September 2018.
We're all very excited to get things started at Redland and would love to show round lots of new families when we first open the doors for visits in August.
To read a bit more, head on over to our Redland page.
The taste of summer
We've welcomed in summer with open arms, just as we always do at Snapdragons, and have lined up another selection of tasty summer treats for the children to enjoy whilst at the nursery.
The new menus have just the sort of foods you'd hope to find on a summer lineup, including beef burgers, pasta salads, Moroccan tagines, pizzas, and copious amounts of juicy fresh fruit like watermelon and strawberries. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it.
Our featured magazine recipe is Veggie-Packed Spanish Rice and you can find details on how to make this right here on our website.
If you'd like to take a look at the menus, including the weeks they will be running, pop over to our Healthy Eating page.
Introducing The Little Cottage
We're delighted to announce the opening of our new baby unit at Snapdragons Keynsham, with the babies moving across from Monday.
The Little Cottage (okay, technically it's a coach house) will allow the babies to have more creativity and freedom in their play than ever before, providing them with a self-contained playspace, a built-in rest area and easy access to the incredible outdoor spaces at the nursery.
Hannah Saunders, Head of Babies at Keynsham, was thrilled to start setting the new area up, after six months of renovation work finally came to an end, saying "It's been amazing to create a space that I know will work so well for the babies. Having a vision of what I wanted and now seeing it complete is just amazing. It's a space I know the babies will love and the staff too. It also means we have our own sensory space, which is something I've always wanted too!"
Gemma Smith, Nursery Manager and Alice Hill, Head of Early Years Practice were equally as enthusiastic, adding "It's fantastic for the babies, having such easy access to the outdoor environment. The early feedback from families at the nursery has been overwhelmingly positive and we think it's going to be a massive hit for our little babies."
The Little Cottage opens on Monday and if you haven't had a chance to take a look yet, then just pop in and ask - anyone will be delighted for the opportunity to show you around!
